There are probably some good pros, but after the damage this app has done to my photo library, I don't trust it to do anything else. Import duplicates files all over my library, going back years. Import fails to import actual pictures I took and replaces them with old duplicates. If you organize folders by date the picture was taken, the import can cause major havoc. Major bugs for Picasa 3.

A common use case. I patiently waited as the tool indexed all of my photos before doing any imports. I started importing from a few different devices, and I thought the import was working, but I found out it scattered hundreds of duplicate photos across date folders going back years ago. Read reply 1. Absolutely confirmed the imports overwrote hundreds of old pictures. I am really lucky I have a backup and I kept the originals on my phone, but it's going to be a huge project to clean this up. I downloaded from their website to make sure I got and untouched file.
I backed up all my files just in case it really did delete them. NO problem. Was just what I needed. Despite several attempts to install the FB uploader, it simply won't appear on Picasa. I gave up in the end. The ability to upload to FB no longer exists, despite the fake app that has no functionality.
Promoted by Picasa to update to new version. After update somehow went to "compacting database". Can't find anything about this on the web. I lost mine 3 days ago. I will not do this.
