In the debug example section I found a missing checkbox in my IDE for one of my class files. I still don't know if it was my fault or the books. Since it took me two days to find it, I didn't backtrack.
This section had an intentional bug introduced to show what would happen to the debug output and how to read that output. At first I felt this was overkill for learning, but after enduring the debugging and testing sections, I have to admit, I have never seen such detail in a programming language before.
The test sections were really quite amazing! I could immediatly see the benefit of writing test code along the way and keeping those schemes around for when the code inevitably changed. Part III goes into more depth behind the scenes of swift and the interactivity with Cocoa. Throughout the book, explanations of how swift interacts with the more seasoned underlying classes of objective-C and the Cocoa frameworks I'm hoping I'm referring to those correctly surface along the way.
You can probably tell that I fast forwarded somewhat through part III. Now - on to book two. Format: Paperback.
